Discovered in 1989 in Brazil, Paraiba Tourmalines are a copper-bearing variety of tourmalines and are widely considered the most rare and sought after gem in the world. Known for its incredible neon blue and greenish blue color, paraibas can also exhibit a violet intense blue and green color. Today, this precious gem is typically heated and included. Paraibas are mostly found in Mozambique and Nigeria, but the ones from Brazil are the rarest.
